Beef Mixture
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • ½ medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
Gravy
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme (or oregano)
Casserole Base
  • 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuits

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. Sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic in the same skillet for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Sprinkle the all-purpose flour over the beef mixture and stir well. Gradually whisk in the beef broth and milk until thickened, about 3-5 minutes.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, and thyme, mixing thickly until blended and creamy.
  6. Cut the refrigerated biscuits into quarters and fold them into the gravy mixture.
  7. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and fluffy.
