Preparation

- Peel, core, and thinly slice your apples to about ¼-inch thick.
- Toss the sliced apples in a large bowl with lemon juice, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, and salt. Add the cold butter and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Pour the apple mixture into a greased 9×9-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Spread the oat topping evenly over the apples.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden and the apples are tender.
