Method
Prepare the Chicken
In a large mixing bowl, combine the chicken pieces with salt and black pepper. Toss to coat evenly.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned chicken pieces.
Cook the chicken for about 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 75°C). Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
Make the Honey Garlic Sauce
In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil to the skillet. Whisk together until well combined.
Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, stirring to coat the chicken in the sauce. Let it simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes to thicken slightly.
Cook the Green Beans
In a separate pot, bring water to a boil. Add the trimmed green beans and blanch for 2-3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
Drain the green beans and immediately transfer them to an ice bath to stop the cooking process.
In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and sauté for 30 seconds.
Add the blanched green beans to the skillet and sauté for an additional 3-4 minutes until heated through and well coated with the garlic butter.
Serve
