How to Make Hot Cocoa
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, whisk together the cocoa powder and sugar until smooth.
- Gradually pour in the whole milk while continuously whisking. Heat until warmed through but not boiling.
- Once heated, stir in the pure vanilla extract and let it simmer for an additional minute.
- In a separate bowl, beat the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Sweeten if desired.
- Pour the hot cocoa into mugs, top with whipped cream, and enjoy!
