How to Make Hot Cocoa
  1. In a medium saucepan over low heat, whisk together the cocoa powder and sugar until smooth.
  2. Gradually pour in the whole milk while continuously whisking. Heat until warmed through but not boiling.
  3. Once heated, stir in the pure vanilla extract and let it simmer for an additional minute.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Sweeten if desired.
  5. Pour the hot cocoa into mugs, top with whipped cream, and enjoy!
