How to Make Maryland Style Crab Cakes
  1. Gently go through the fresh lump crab meat and remove any shells.

  3. Sprinkle fresh breadcrumbs into the mixture and stir lightly.
  4. Carefully fold the picked crab meat into the mixture.
  5. Shape the mixture into patties about 1 inch thick and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Refrigerate the formed cakes for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook each cake for about 4 minutes per side.
  8. Plate the crab cakes and serve them with tartar sauce.
