How to Make Mississippi Mud Chicken
  1. Start by spraying the inside of your slow cooker with cooking spray or use a liner for easy cleanup.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in a single layer at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. Pour the pepperoncini juice over the chicken, then sprinkle the ranch and au jus seasoning evenly on top.
  4. Distribute the butter pieces over the chicken and arrange the pepperoncini peppers on top.
  5. Cover your slow cooker and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  6. Use two forks to shred the chicken in the slow cooker, mixing it with the sauce, then serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
